City Clay will be opening for regular business hours on Tuesday, 3/4/14.
There may still be snow on the ground in places around Charlottesville, but Spring is in the air at City Clay! To celebrate, we’re announcing our Spring 2014 Class Schedule! Visit the Classes Page or click here to download a copy.
Always been interested in taking a class, but never stopped in to check us out? Join our Facebook Event for Sunday, March 23, from 1-4 pm during our free Open House. Bring a friend for an afternoon in the studio. Watch demonstrations of hand-building and wheel throwing, and get your hands dirty by trying out basic processes for making pottery and sculpture. Take a tour of the studio and enjoy coffee and locally-made donuts.
We’d like to draw your attention to two of our **NEW** offerings, Independent Study and Passport. Independent study is geared for intermediate and advanced students who want to pursue their own interests, but work in a group setting for feedback and camaraderie. Passport is similar, but only meets on Sunday afternoons, to let people who don’t have time to commit to a full class still keep their fingers muddy!
Finally, we’re excited to announce the reformatting of our Beginning Wheel and Beginning Handbuilding classes. We’ve broken the beginning classes in to Two Levels to give students plenty of time to build and refine their skills before moving on to more specialized, advanced classes.
City Clay offers more that just classes . . .
TEAM BUILDING / EXECUTIVE RETREATS
City Clay offers a unique environment for your executive retreat. Our 2-3 hour “Try It” workshop accommodates up to 16 participants. Teams are encouraged to explore creativity and collaboration while learning to throw pots on the wheel, sculpting a portrait, or hand building with clay. Multiple day workshops are also available. Call and let us help you design a retreat for your office or organization.
CITY CLAY is a fabulous place to have a party! Everyone has fun when they get their hands in the mud. Let us help you plan a memorable event – starting with kids as young as four.
